About me

Hello, my name is Cassidy Henry. I'm a 19 year old student who currently resides in Los Angeles, California. I formerly lived in a very rural small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I'm currently enrolled in a California community college with hopes to transfer to the University of California, Los Angeles to complete a B.A. in Linguistics and Computer Science and complete the Russian Flagship program. I absolutely love the Russian language and I've studied it for about 6 years now, and I'm close to fluency. I'm an alumna of the National Security Language for Youth Program - I studied and lived in Kazan, Tatarstan in Russia for nearly 3 months in the summer of 2012. This program not only changed my language abilities but it also changed my life. I consider Kazan to be a second home and I long to one day return on another program.

I have many passions. I do graphic design, website design, art, and game development as a hobby and I hope to develop the lattermost into a professional career. I have enjoyed playing games and working with technology since I was a child, and in the past few years I have picked up programming skills that I am still developing. I'm still just an amateur indie developer, but you can check out what I've accomplished on the Projects section of my site!

My main interests aside from language and technology are science (especially astronomy!), literature, music (my tastes vary a lot - from folk to rock to metal and even some rap - my favorite mashup is folk punk though...I really enjoy good music with feelings in it!), and art. I also enjoy the occasional nature hike (my picture here was taken on a trip to Death Valley!).

Thanks for reading! Feel free to check out the rest of my site, contact me, or check out my LinkedIn profile.
